Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 October 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Disclaro Shopify application and the Disclaro website (together, the “Service”). Disclaro (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides the Service.

About Disclaro

Disclaro provides software tools that help Shopify merchants review their storefront content for potential regulatory and compliance issues.

Disclaro is a software tool. We are not a law firm or a legal adviser, and nothing in the Service or on our website is legal advice.

Acceptance of these Terms

By installing, accessing or using Disclaro, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not install or use the Service.

Eligibility and merchant responsibility

You may use Disclaro only if you have the authority to install and use it for the Shopify store concerned. If you do so on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to agree to these Terms on its behalf.

You remain responsible for:

  • your storefront content
  • your business practices
  • determining which legal and regulatory obligations apply to you
  • deciding whether any changes to your store are required

What Disclaro does

In its current form, Disclaro:

  • scans supported Shopify products, pages and collections
  • identifies potential compliance issues
  • shows the matched wording or evidence and the affected storefront content
  • allows you to review the findings

No legal advice or compliance guarantee

Disclaro does not provide legal advice. Please bear in mind that:

  • findings are automated, software-generated indicators for you to review
  • a finding does not necessarily mean that there is a legal violation
  • the absence of a finding does not guarantee that your store is compliant
  • Disclaro does not certify a store as compliant

You should obtain professional advice where appropriate.

Merchant-controlled changes

In its current form, Disclaro does not automatically modify your storefront content. You decide whether and how to change your store, and you are responsible for any changes you make.

Shopify and third-party services

Disclaro integrates with Shopify and relies on third-party infrastructure and services to operate.

Shopify is a separate company. Disclaro is an independent application and is not operated, endorsed or certified by Shopify. We are not responsible for the availability of Shopify, for changes to the Shopify platform, or for outages of third-party services that are outside our reasonable control.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • misuse or disrupt the Service
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, our systems or other users’ data
  • reverse engineer the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it
  • use the Service unlawfully
  • interfere with other users or with our infrastructure

Availability and changes to the service

We may update, improve, suspend or change features of the Service.

We will make reasonable efforts to operate the Service reliably, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Free and paid features

Manual scanning is available free of charge.

Pro is available as a paid plan at $19 per month, billed through Shopify. Pricing and any additional payment terms are shown before purchase.

Intellectual property

We retain our rights in the Disclaro software, design, rules, branding and related materials.

You retain ownership of your own Shopify and storefront content. Accessing your store content in order to provide the Service does not transfer ownership of that content to us.

Privacy

Our use of information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Disclaro at any time, including by uninstalling it from your Shopify store.

We may suspend or terminate your access where reasonably necessary, including in cases of serious misuse, security risks, legal requirements or material breach of these Terms.

How information is handled when you uninstall Disclaro is described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis, and we do not promise that findings will be complete or error-free.

Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service.

You remain responsible for the business and legal decisions you make based on findings.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will be published at the same URL with an updated revision date.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, subject to any mandatory rights that apply under applicable law.
